The Euro gained 0.1 percent evernight, with EUR/USD hitting over 1.2610. However the EUR/USD rate dropped this morning after 06:00 GMT hitting a low of 1.2528. Currently at 1.2545.

At the start of the week the Euro had declined 0.3 percent, currently dropping below 1.257 against USD. This fall in EUR lacks a supportive drive, suggesting a reaction to last week's rise.

The pound has hit a 19-month high as debt woes weigh down on the Euro. Sterling touched 1.2222 Euros during trading on Thursday. This is the highest Sterling has reached since the Financial crisis. Markets continue to worry about the European debt crisis, with the perceived risk of a default by Greece hitting an all-time high.

The Euro has made up some ground on the Sterling (GBP) following a credit agency warning on the state of the UK's finances. Inter-bank trading had reached a recent low of 0.822 but has strengthened to 0.832 after the warning.
